On Thursday, November 19, 2009 at 2:45 a.m. officers were called to 10627 Fort Street, Paycheck Advance, to investigate an intrusion alarm.  When officers arrived, they found the rear door was pried open.  There were no suspects inside of the building when checked and it appeared that nothing was taken.

 

About an hour later, at 3:56 a.m., officers were called to 411 North 84th Street, Douglas County Treasurers Office, to investigate an intrusion alarm.  Officers found that forced entry was made and that items inside had been disturbed.

 

Video surveillance was operational during both crimes.  There are two suspects who entered the buildings in both cases wearing similar clothing.  Suspect 1 is seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, gloves and white tennis shoes.  Suspect 2 is seen wearing a blue “Creighton” hooded sweatshirt and black jeans.  The jeans have a design on the back pocket and a large white design on the front left thigh.

12/8/2009 - FNB Bank Robbery

On Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at 9:23 a.m. officers were called to 3305 L Street, First National Bank, to investigate a robbery that had just occurred.  The tellers told officers that the suspect entered the bank, handed over a back pack and demanded money.  The back pack was black with the initials or letters “CHA”, in white, on it.  After receiving an undetermined amount of money, the suspect fled the area on foot.  Detectives determined that a money dye pack did explode, causing red/purple dye to stain money and possibly the suspect.  Officers searched the area for the suspect, but were unable to locate him.

The Nebraska Bankers Association will offer up to $25,000 for the arrest of persons involved in bank robberies.  If you have any information in this case you are asked to contact the FBI at 493-8688 or contact Omaha Crime Stoppers anonymously at 444-STOP.

Suspect:
Black or Hispanic male wearing a brown parka with a fur lined hood, black ski mask, brown gloves and blue jeans.  He is believed to be 6 foot tall, approximately 220 pounds.

On Nov. 3rd a shopplifting took place at the local Von Maur located at 10010 California Street. The suspect was looking at two men`s rings that an employee was showing him. The suspect grabbed the rings and ran out of the store without paying.

On Nov. 7th a shopplifting took place at a local Jcpenny`s located at 800 N. 98th Street. The suspect also ran out of the store with jewelry without paying.

The suspect seems to have gotten away with over $5,000 in jewelry.

10/30/2009 - Armed Robbery at a local kwik shop

On Friday, October 30, 2009 at 11:44 p.m. officers responded to a radio
call to 4855 L Street, Kwik Shop, to investigate a robbery. The clerks
told officers that the suspect entered the business, displayed a firearm
and demanded money. At one point during the robbery, the suspect fired
a shot into a wall of the business. After receipt of an undetermined
amount of money, the suspect fled from the scene, westbound on foot.

Suspect:
Light-skinned Black male in his 20`s, 5 feet 6 inches tall, wearing a
black and gray hooded jacket, black hat and black overalls.

9/11/2009 - Purse Theft at a local Hyvee

The Omaha Police Department is asking for the assistance from the public in the identification of a vehicle and suspect who was involved in purse snatchings.

 

Omaha Police are looking for a mid-90s maroon 4 door vehicle (possibly Nissan Maxima or like vehicle) with a broken driver’s rear view mirror which is partially hanging down and damage to the front passenger quarter panel (see attached photos).  This vehicle was involved in a purse theft at 5150 Center St. (Hy-Vee) on Friday, September 11, 2009 at 1:40 p.m. Suspect is a black male, 30 to 40 years old, heavy set, with bald or very short hair.

 

The below attached photos were taken from surveillance video of the suspect and suspect’s vehicle.

8/29/2009 - Flatbed stolen from 2702 Douglas St.

Police were notified a trailer was taken from 2702 Douglas St., on Saturday, August 29, 2009. The incident was captured on video surveillance. At approximately 8:00 pm an older model white dump truck can be seen pulling into the parking lot. The suspect circles the lot, parks the truck and attempts to hook the trailer up to the truck. After several unsuccessful tries he leaves the lot. He returns at 9:25 pm and drives off with the trailer.

 

The suspect is a white male. He can be seen wearing a baseball hat, khaki shorts, a dark colored short sleeved shirt, and dark shoes.

8/25/2009 - Theft at the Tractor Supply Company on 7910 L Street

The Omaha Police Department is asking for assistance from the public in the identification of a suspect involved in a felony theft case.

 

On Wednesday, August 26, 2009 police were called to 7910 L Street in Omaha to investigate a theft. Officers were told that at approximately 5:45 p.m. on August 25, 2009 the suspect took a welder from inside the Tractor Supply Company. Later that evening around 7:45 p.m., the same suspect returned driving an older van with no plates. After entering the employee only area, he backed his van up to one loading dock and parked. He then went over to the second loading dock and placed an automatic gate opener in the door. The suspect then rolled a go kart into his van from the dock area, loaded the automatic gate opener and drove away.

 

The manager saw the suspect as he was closing the loading dock to leave.

 

The suspect is an older white male. He can be seen wearing a red t-shirt, jean shorts, black sneakers, and a black baseball hat with a white logo.  The suspect changed shirts in between both crimes.

8/16/2009 - Burglary at Wash World, 3137 N 108th St

The Omaha Police Department is asking for assistance from the public in the identification of a suspect involved in a burglary.

 

On Sunday, August 16, 2009 officers responded to a burglary call at Wash World, 3137 N 108th Street, in Omaha. Upon arrival officers secured the building and spoke with the business owner. He contacted police after receiving a call regarding an alarm going off at 12:25 am that morning. He provided video surveillance footage of the theft.

 

Video surveillance shows the suspect, a black, male wearing a black short sleeved t-shirt, dark colored blue jeans, and a black ski mask. He opens the cash register and leaves with a undisclosed amount of money.

7/30/2009 - Arson at a local Israel Synagogue

On Thursday, July 30, 2009 at 7:28 p.m. the Omaha Fire Department was called to 12604 Pacific Street for a working fire.  After the fire was put out, arson investigators were called to the scene of the charred playground equipment.  Investigators concluded that the fire was set deliberately, as no accidental causes could be found. Photos were taken of the equipment, determined to be a total loss.

 

The playground equipment was valued at $10,000.  Attached are photos of the equipment before and after the fire.

7/27/2009 - Robbery at Bucky’s Express at 107 South 40th Street

The Omaha Police Department is asking for assistance from the public in the identification of two suspects involved in three robberies.

 

On Monday, July 27, 2009 officers responded to a radio call at 107 South 40th Street, Bucky’s Express to investigate a robbery.  The employee told officers that two black males, wearing blue ski masks and dark clothes entered the business, displayed firearms and demanded money from the register.  After receipt of an undisclosed amount of money, the suspects fled from the scene on foot.

 

Investigators believe that the same suspects are responsible for a robbery at the Kwik Shop at 5929 North 72nd Street on August 9th, and another robbery at the Bucky’s on September 3rd.

 

Video Surveillance from the first robbery shows two black males enter the business armed with handguns.  Both suspects are wearing black shirts and face masks. 

 

In the Kwik Shop robbery, two black males enter the business.  One suspect is wearing a light colored t-shirt and a blue stocking cap.  The second suspect is wearing a “Nuggets” jersey and red shorts. 

 

In the second Bucky’s robbery, the video shows one male in a black hooded sweatshirt entering the store, armed with a handgun.
